Information Collection and Use
Information Collected
AFI is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. AFI collects information from users at several different points on our Web site. Personal information collected from users will not be disclosed to others unless disclosure is necessary to provide services the user has requested.
Browsing
AFI does not require users to complete a registration form in order to browse our Web site. AFI does not collect any personal information, such as names, addresses, credit card numbers, or social security numbers, from users browsing our Web site. You are only required to provide certain personal information to AFI if you are ordering a product or service from AFI, or are attempting to apply or renew membership with AFI.
Log Files
AFI gathers certain information automatically and stores it in log files. This information includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. AFI uses this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, administer the Web site, analyze Web site usage, and gather information.
Orders
If you purchase a product or service from AFI, we request certain personally identifiable information from you, such as your name, address, e-mail address, and credit card number or other financial information. This information is used for billing and shipping purposes. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.
Membership
If you apply for membership in AFI, we request certain personally identifiable information from you, such as your name, address, e-mail address, and credit card number or other financial information. This information is necessary to process your application and to contact you. We also request personally identifiable information from users who pay their membership dues online.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data that is stored on a user’s computer for recordkeeping purposes. We use cookies on this Web site. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.
We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close you browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. We set a persistent cookie to store your password, so that, if you choose, you don’t have to enter it more than once. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some areas of our site will be limited.
This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by AFI only and does not cover the use of cookies on Web sites not owned or controlled by AFI.
Donations and Purchases
In order to make a donation or purchase on this Web site, a user must first complete a donation or order form, on which the user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes, to fill supporters' orders and to provide donations receipts. If we have trouble processing an order or donation, this contact information can be used to get in touch with the user. This information will be used to send the user materials, a tax receipt (if a donation is made), or purchased items. The user will be added to the Global Fund for Women mailing list, unless previously indicated otherwise. If you would like to be removed from the Global Fund for Women mailing list, please send us an email. We ship orders ourselves, and use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. The credit card company does not retain, share, store or use personal information for any secondary purposes.
Sharing
To obtain the names of potential new supporters, Agape Foundations, Incorporated rents lists of like-minded organizations from trustworthy third parties. Because of the high cost of renting lists, Agape Foundations, Incorporated will also, at times, exchange its list of supporters for another organization's list, for a one-time use only. If supporters wish to have their name excluded from this sharing program they may indicate their preference by sending us an email.
Users who join the Agape Foundations, Incorporated's mailing list will receive periodic mailings throughout the year. Please note that only donors to the Foundation receive our printed newsletter. At times, we may choose to exchange our mailing list through a reputable third party with other like-minded organizations. If supporters wish to have their name excluded from this sharing program they may indicate their preference by sending us an email.
If a user elects to use our "Tell a Friend" referral service to inform others about the Foundation and it's work, our site will request from the use the friends' names and e-mail addresses. Our Web site will automatically send those friends a one-time e-mail inviting them to visit the site. The Foundation will not keep their contact information or send them any other materials than the one-time e-mail.
