While I was a PR minor at FAMU, I was required to take a course called: Public Relations Communications (or PUR 3105/ PUR 3105L). PUR 3105 is a writing class and lab designed to teach its students how to prepare the communication tools PR professionals use to get messages to their clients' target publics and audiences. For 6 weeks, my classmates and I pretended to be Public Relations professionals and prepared all of the communications materials for our fictional client's special event. The following communications materials were delivered by the end of this course: (1) A Special Event Media Kit (containing: a pitch letter, news release, photographs, public service announcements and a fact sheet. Just to name a few) (2) A Social Media Strategy (containing: a website, blog site and Twitter site).

I am pleased to introduce the back-to-school event, hosted by the Tallahassee Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, "Breaking Out Smart Students." B.O.S.S.
