Should the Internet be Relied on for Personal Supplements?
Now, that is a really good question! My heart felt answer is one should not rely only on the multitude of Internet sales for personal nutrition. Often, the savings a person can obtain from internet purchases influences buying. But, is the cost of the product the primary reason to buy from Internet links?
Those savvy with internet searches know they can simply perform a search on any specific supplement the results will be overwhelming. But which company would one choose after seeing the results?
The answer potentially comes from one’s personal knowledge of the company, information one may receive from a friend or family member, information one has personally researched, price of the supplement, or any combination of these options. There is another option, that’s readily favorable; one’s local independent supplement store.
When one visits his/her local independent supplement store, one should be able to get qualifiable facts to questions about which supplement to consider taking. Look for the depth of knowledge that the store representative has and ask if they have gone through any type of professional certification. Typically, they will be happy to share their credentials and even more happy to talk to knowledgeable consumers about nutritional supplements.
Also, ask if the store offers any type of free savings programs for consumers. Ideally, senior citizens and military personnel receive savings, but there are some other stores that offer savings to more than just the typical consumer groups.
Last, when you converse with a real live knowledgeable person at the independent store, you have an opportunity to explore the reasons why one is interested in a specific supplement. You won’t get that from the Internet!
