Make it Count

A family, who had moved to a new neighborhood, got a late start one morning, and as a result their six year- old missed her bus to school. Though it would make him late for work, the father agreed to take her to school if she would give him directions.

They left their neighborhood and the young girl began directing her father to take one turn after another.

Following twenty minutes of zig-zagging across town, they arrived at the school, which turned out to be eight blocks away. Steaming and visibly upset, the father asked the kindergartner why she had him drive all over the place when the school was so close to home. “We went the way the bus goes,” she said “That’s the only way I know.”

If you really want to maximize your journey on your highway to success, you need to make every action count. You must determine where you want to go and how you’re going to get there. You can’t be the person who’s clueless on where they’re going and what it’s going to take to get there.
